R407A

R407A is a blend of non-ozone depleting HFC refrigerants (R32, R125 and R134a),  It has similar properties and characteristics to R22 in some applications but should not be confused with R407C. 

It is typically used for refrigeration applications and offers a lower GWP alternative to R404A.  As R407A is a blend, it should always be removed from the cylinder as a liquid when charging the system. 

R407C is not compatible with mineral oil, and equipment manufacturers recommend Polyol Ester (POE) oil - see our Lubricants section for further information.

R407A may also be used to retrofit certain systems, however, it is rarely the first choice as multiple oil changes to a POE is required.
