R454A Opteon™ XL40
R-454A (Opteon™ XL40)
Very Low GWP (239) A2L safety class alternative to R-404A, R-507A, R-407A, R-407F for non-hermetic refrigeration applications (excluding multi-compressor retail and food service applications of 40kW or greater cooling capacity).
Features and Benefits
- Very low GWP –Sustainable and compliant with F-Gas legislation
- Increased performance compared to R-404A – Lower indirect emissions and operating costs.
- Approved by equipment manufacturers – New equipment available.
Packaging and Supply
- Climalife supply R-454A in 9kg or 45kg returnable cylinders.
- Conforms to AHRI 700-2016 specifications.
- As R-454A is safety class A2L, it is important to use the right equipment for handling R-454A.
Why Choose Climalife?
Climalife are a key player in the distribution of refrigerants and other climate control products, with a nationwide distribution network and product knowledge that is second to none.
How does R-454A compare to R-404A?
R-454A has an improved cooling and energy efficiency performance compared to R‑404A. R‑454A does have the safety classification A2L due to its low flammability. R‑454A should only be used in systems compatible for use with low flammability refrigerants.
Full theoretical performance comparisons at customer specified conditions are available from Climalife on request.
