R449A Opteon™ XP40
R-449A (Opteon™ XP40)
Lower GWP (1397) A1 safety class alternative to R-404A, R-507A, R-407A, R-407F for all direct expansion refrigeration applications.
Features and Benefits
- A1 (non-flammable) safety class – Ideal retrofit candidate for higher GWP refrigerants.
- 64% lower GWP than R-404A –More sustainable and compliant with F-Gas legislation.
- Good energy performance compared to R-404A – Lower indirect emissions and operating costs.
- Approved by many equipment manufacturers – Large choice of equipment available.
Packaging and Supply
- Climalife supply R-449A in 10kg, 19kg or 53kg returnable cylinders.
- Conforms to AHRI 700-2016 specifications.
Why Choose Climalife?
Climalife are a key player in the distribution of refrigerants and other climate control products, with a nationwide distribution network and product knowledge that is second to none.
How does R-449A compare to R-404A?
R-449A has a similar cooling capacity with improved energy efficiency compared to R‑404A. In many cases the compressor discharge temperature will not be a concern but for some low temperature applications, under the same operating conditions, R‑449A will exhibit a significantly higher compressor discharge temperature than R‑404A which, in a retrofit situation, may need to be managed.
Full theoretical performance comparisons at customer specified conditions are available from Climalife on request.
