“Cooling, heating, to the highest degree, for over 50 years”
As a key player in the steel industry, the manufacturer of industrial air conditioners had to find an alternative to R-227ea to meet its customers’ demands.
Using theoretical cycle calculations and considering what current standards and regulations apply, Neil Roberts explores how different low GWP options compare and what is required for compliance with those standards and regulations.
The current F-Gas Legislation with its phase down steps is on target to cut CO2 equivalents (tCO2e) for HFCs placed on the market by at least 79% by 2030. The overall aim is to reduce and contain refrigerant emissions by taking every step to adopt responsible refrigeration. More needs to be done to keep up with the phase down steps and refrigerant leak detection has an important part to play in meeting this target.
From January 1st 2022 it will no longer be allowed to use a refrigerant with a GWP of 150 or more in new equipment for storage, display or dispensing of products, for sale to end users, in retail and food services, where the equipment is either a hermetically sealed refrigerator or freezer or a multipack centralised refrigeration systems with a rated capacity of 40 kW or more.
Facing stiff competition, we are delighted to announce that Neil Roberts, Senior Technical Sales Manager at Climalife has been voted the Vice President of the BRA (British Refrigeration Association).
The team at Climalife UK would like to wish all of their customers, friends and colleagues within the industry a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Deatils can be found here on our Christmas Opening Times.
