College speaker programme - visiting the Grimsby Institute

As part of Climalife's college speaker programme, Mel Summers and Neil Roberts of Climalife, and Mark Hughes of Chemours, visited the Grimsby Institute on Tuesday 12th October 2021, to deliver the next in their series of refrigerant related presentations.

The programme initially kicked off in July 2021, with a visit to Eastleigh College whereby Climalife's Senior Technical Sales Manager, Neil Roberts, gave an informative and interactive presentation on many aspects of the refrigerant market.

At the October session in Grimsby, Neil and Mel were accompanied by Mark Hughes and collectively presented to a large group of interested year 2 and year 3 students from Grimsby's Refrigeration and Air Conditioning course.  Discussion was around low GWP refrigerant options and selecting the right refrigerant for the job, case studies, technology, retrofit options for existing equipment as well as EN-378, PED and risk assessments.  The team were also taken on a guided tour of the excellent college facilities.

Mel Summers said:

"It was a privilege for us to get to meet the team and be able to share our refrigerant knowledge with the next generation engineers studying at this great facility.  The engagement from the students was brilliant - lots of great questions to keep us on our toes!"

Senior Trainer and Consultant at the Grimbsy Institute, Mark Denford said:

"Thank you again for coming over to see us today, the feedback from the guys was really good - everyone had learned something and came away with more knowledge.  I believe this helps the students to understand just how much they have to consider when selecting refrigerants and handling them safely."

We look forward to our next event taking place in December.
