What can we use to replace R-404A?

With legislation leading the drive towards using lower GWP refrigerants, this month we are looking at R404A alternatives on the market.

R404A has traditionally been used in commercial, industrial and transport refrigeration for many years.  However, the HFC phase down steps will hit R404A particularly hard and from 2020 there will be a ban on any refrigerant with a GWP of 2500 or more in stationary equipment.  So with its GWP of 3922, R404A is going to be coming under the spotlight more and more over the coming months.
