Read our article on R407F - featured in ACR Today's May issue

Climalife UK's Technical Director Peter Dinnage has released an informative article on the use of R407F as a replacement for R404A, featured in May's issue of ACR Today magazine.

Whilst the use of Performax LT (R407F) has been popular in supermarket applications over the past 2 years, its suitability for use in other applications hasn't been as widely publicised.  This refrigerant can work equally well in applications such as food storage and food processing, where R404A refrigerant would traditionally be used in new equipment.

Whilst we await the finalising of F-Gas regulation updates, there are several reasons to look for alternatives to R404A.  As well as having a rather high GWP at 3922, there are also more energy efficient options than R404A, such as Performax LT which has a GWP of 1824 and is able to offer attractive energy saving benefits in operational costs.
