Laura McKeown, Business Support Manager discusses

 

The Disability Confident scheme has been designed by employers and disabled people’s representatives to support and recognise businesses that are actively inclusive in their recruitment and retention practices.

 

There are three levels and we have been Disability Confident Committed (Level 1) since May 2023. In the last 18 months, we have been doing more to support our employees with disabilities and demonstrate that we are committed to recruiting disabled people. We have just been awarded Disability Confident Level 2 which means we are now a Disability Confident Employer. As part of our commitments that we have made, we will be advertising any vacancies through organisations and media particularly aimed at disabled people, continue to ensure that we are providing an environment that is inclusive and accessible for everyone, and promoting a culture of being disability confident.
